MAKING CLIMATE RESILIENT COMMUNITIES IN RIVULET AGRANI CLIMATE COMMUNITIES IN RIVULET AGRANI BASIN OF MAHARASHTRA THROUGH INTEGRATED NATURAL RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

 

The Project area spreads over 15 out of 21 Villages of Jath Taluka which form part of the Agrani River Basin. This Taluka is one of the worst affected due to less rainfall and a chronic draught conditions. According to the Ground water Survey of India 9 out of these 21 Villages are under Semi Critical Condition and 12 villages are under Over Exploited Category.

 
Objectives:
 

  • To implement rain water harvesting with indigenous communities in the project area covering 15 villages for sustainable development and Livelihood generation

 

  • To enhance the capacity of the indigenous communities in Water Management and use efficiency. 

Expected output:

  • Rural Communities in the project area get organized for water conservation and management
  • Enhanced capacity of community members regarding sustainable water management practices and improving its efficiency

Expected Beneficiary: Will be the villagers from 15 Villages Through which the stream to be rejuvenated which falls in Draught prone area
